WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO FIREFOX ? !!!!!!

ihcoycI saw an announcement on the Wikipedia front page that Firefox 1.5 has been released. So, like a fool, I download and install it.
Now every page has a large grey area beneath the status bar. Nothing I have tried to configure, click on, or enlarge will overwrite it or make it go away. It occupies maybe the bottom 1/6th of the screen, and is annoying as hell.
Is this a local and idiosyncratic result, or are you suffering the same difficulty? If you are also getting this problem, how do you get the blank space to go away and get your pages to appear in the entire window once more?
