WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO FIREFOX ? !!!!!!

I saw an announcement on the Wikipedia front page that Firefox 1.5 has been released. So, like a fool, I download and install it.
Now every page has a large grey area beneath the status bar. Nothing I have tried to configure, click on, or enlarge will overwrite it or make it go away. It occupies maybe the bottom 1/6th of the screen, and is annoying as hell.
Is this a local and idiosyncratic result, or are you suffering the same difficulty? If you are also getting this problem, how do you get the blank space to go away and get your pages to appear in the entire window once more?

Date: 2005-12-01 04:55 am (UTC)The first thing I thought when I saw the big blank space down there was that Firefox was going to try to load banner ads in that space. Of course, any address likely to serve banner ads is probably already blocked in hosts file, so I saw nothing.

It was like this a bit with 1.0.4, and we all hated that experience...
