The Whole Album Meme
Feb. 5th, 2009 09:50 amOn your portable MP3 or other music player, what artists are represented by complete albums / discs, rather than individual songs?
The Doors: The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting for the Sun, L. A. Woman
Patti Smith: Horses, Easter
Alex Harvey: N.E.X.T., Rock Drill
The Drive By Truckers: Decoration Day, Dirty South
Fields of the Nephilim: Earth Inferno
Hawkwind: Space Ritual
The Tubes: Young and Rich
Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Revisited
Swans: White Light from the Mouth of Infinity
Sisters of Mercy: First and Last and Always
Nick Cave: Murder Ballads
Tom Verlaine: Dreamtime
David Johansen: David Johansen
Arthur Brown: The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
The Stooges: Raw Power
The list doesn't quite give an accurate account of what's on mine, although it's fairly representative. There's a lot of Rolling Stones on my IPod, but no whole albums as far as I know, though I suspect Let It Bleed and Beggar's Banquet come close. Patti Smith would have all of Radio Ethiopia, except for the title track. I left out "L. A. Blues" from Fun House by The Stooges. Neil Young isn't there, though he is well represented. Can't think of any full albums I have by him, but I know the whole Crazy Horse "side" of Rust Never Sleeps is on there.
