Jacques Derrida is dead.

I suppose it's fate that the old charlatan died on the same day as Christopher Reeve, and as such very little heed seems to have been paid to his demise on this side of the pond. Which is for the best; the drug he peddled is slowly but surely starting to wear off. It never got anybody high; it only made all who took it confused. He was the chief exponent of modernity in its senility, attempting to demonstrate that it was impossible to understand anything, or to remember anything. In an Age of Charlatans, he became a prince among them.
