American garbage dumped in space

Today, at 7:30 am local time (11:30 UTC), NASA slammed a 1 ton rocket part into the Moon in order to observe the formation of a new, all-American lunar crater. The spacecraft responsible will crash into the Moon shortly after.

What new doom will they awaken?
